What's New
Friday March 26,2004 we had a visit from "The Why Guy".
Our special thanks to Kevin, Jay, Victoria and Lisa.
I am always adding hydrants to our collection.

Sometimes it takes a while to update the site.
Some new hydrants
Just acquired

Cayuta Wheel and Foundry model K-U-T A
This is only 25" high and very rare. Patent date 1899.

Kennedy "New Type" hydrant, manufactured 1912-1916.
This is an uncommon hydrant with a two piece or double bonnet.
It was removed from service in Sept. 2005 and given to us by Silver Creek Water.
From London, England is this wonderful porcelain plaque dated from the 1890's. A truly rare item and nice addition to the museum. We obtained several of these that are numbered differently. They measure 5" X 2.5".

I believe they were used to mark hydrants in a certain district (branch) so they could be shut off for repairs or replacement from a single location.
