Rare hydrants in WNY
These Hooker hydrants are in North Tonawanda, NY at the water department. They were manufactured in Lockport, NY. No history on these can be found but it is believed that they came into being when Holly hydrants went out of business. That may be the reason for their similarity in design.
To my knowledge, these are the only ones left of this make. Circa 1914.
There are 3 of these unique Darling hydrants with five outlets in East Aurora, NY still in service. The back of the hydrant has another 2.5" port.
